Default Road America - Kohler Challenge pics

Last weekend we drove up to Elkhart Lake, WI for the historic races at Road America. No 964's in the pics (except a really nice one with a "DWS964" front plate), but some fun pics nonetheless. If you are ever looking for a fun weekend, this is it. It is So cool to see the old cars, of all kinds, on the track. Our wives like the people-watching aspects. On Friday evening, many of the race cars drive from the track into the town of Elkhart Lake for a parade and show. Then, just before dark, they drive back out to the track - very cool.

Darrell, did you stay for the downtown concourse on Saturday? Definitely a cool thing too.

Great photos. I love the ones where the cars are driving on the street. Its unusual to see them in that setting.

Awesome job! I noticed that some are video clips--any way to identify those quickly?

My favorite experience was standing next to a 917 a few years back while Brian Redmond (former event host) was holding court with a number of spectators. It's incredible to get that close to motorsport history.

There is a small rectangle in the lower left corner of the thumbnails of the videos.
I still have a lot to learn about photographing cars, but iI have fun anyway. (there is a great blog on PCA site by their main photographer, where I have learned a thing or 6.)
We did not go to the Sat concours in Elkhart Lake - we were too busy partying with friends. BTW it was Cold on Fri and Sat. We could see our breath on Fri evening (but that may have been the alcohol vapor condensing...) Friday evening is a big party in Elkhart Lake.
