steve...yes i did purchase the green rubber O ring for the sender base...thx
also yes i believe the cable i have been describing is the cruise control cable...i will post a photo of it as i would like a bit better instructions on how to remove it from it's connector...

Just replaced the the green O ring last night (was seeping a little bit). It's best to take the time to remove the manifold to get better room to work, it comes out pretty easily, I don,t have cruise control so can't help with that.
Just make sure you have removed the washers under the nuts holding on the oil pressure sender on, you DO NOT want them to come free when removing the sender and dropping into the engine.
