Default new coils, oh my what power

replaced both coils for the hell of it, wow!!! if feels like a new car. owned since 2001 and years ago got car to run on either coils and thought that was the end of it. well i always thought the car ran well but always wondered that something was missing. i replaced both coils and its like night and day. for 110 dollars it was worth every penny of it. by the way coils ohmed out fine and car would run on either coil before replacement.

i have been missing out on hidden performance for years but now

There must be a reason why you replaced them, was it a tip from someone or .......... I'm very curious.

By the way, as a dutchman I'm also curious about your nickname "dutchcrunch"
What does it mean?

Where did you get the coils? I know that there was some discussion about coils from mexico versus germany. Any idea what ones you got?

Default coils

my oringinal coils were made in spain. i bought the new ones from pelican parts for 55 dollars each free shipping, they are bosch coils made in brazil, same as if you were to order from dealer. anyways 2 days after ordering them they went up 64 dollars each!!! worth every cents

my friends call me dutch so i added crunch because i am not the only dutch out there.

if you car lags and everthing is up to snuff it might be your coils. dont run out and buy them because i said so, but for the risk i took, well worth it. wish i done it a long time ago, i cannot express how much different it made. put it to you this way i do not feel like i have to wait till to power band comes around before it really wants to go, it so effortless now.

just thought i share this info. if you could only drive it before and after to see for yourself.

I had a similar pleasant surprise when I replaced the ones on my old C4. So often we have major repairs on these cars just to keep them running, its nice to replace something small and feel that you got a new bit of "umph!"

Hmmm....might be worth the small investment...but in reality, it wouldn't hurt if they were replaced.

Most of the threads with xmas effect are due to the coils... another reason to change them...

The original coils do last a long time - mine went 16 years. Anyone on original coils would not be foolish to replace them.

Is this a simple DIYer project or something that should be tackled by experienced hands?
