I found the kit here (no affiliation) but i also heard it will only fit 964 cars with manual steering rack or with 993 fluid lines. Read here.

Bill Verburg posted this on another forum.

The 993 steering rack brace can be used w/ 964, it's a tighter fit than on 993 though
993.347.131.02 brace
999.218.103.09 8x80 bolts x2

Yup, I have it installed on my 90 C2 w/ PS. Took me maybe 30 minutes of fiddling to get it woven through all the PS lines.

hi Kriss, any fabrication needed to fit it? rerouting, bending, tweaking the pressure lines?

Mostly I pay experts to work on my car. The fact that I was able to install this myself implies that it is relatively simple.

Here is a pic:

I'm not convinced the brace does much.

all the brace does is stiffen the case, it helps prevent the relatively fragile case from warping and binding.

Functionally it does nothing to tighten or change the steering. To do that you need to go to harder rubber tie rod parts(or solids), harder rubber(or solid) A arm bushes and perhaps braces like Geoffrey installed on his RSR

I don't even think it does that.

I've been running 11" wide slicks up front on my car (with full mono-ball/solid parts) and had no issues in 3 years of hard track use - without any steering rack brace. I can't imagine any need to do it for a street car. I still have the stock power steering.

when i switched to 18's (lightweight ones mind) i was going to do this, until i saw the brace on a 993, and instantly realised its probably pointless.

Geoffrey: You should be assured that I was following that post when you originally did it. So far we've not seen a need to do it, but I point out your posts to Rich as appropriate.

Thanks again for the info on the MoTeC oil level, that worked out well. I realized the need for the oil level indication when I started getting a couple low oil pressure alarms and realized I had not checked the oil level in a bit and it was low (I had created an alarm if rpm>3k and pressure was less than 3.5 bar).

I have KW triple adjustable's going on the car this week and that should complete the build of my car.
