We use the Delvac in most street cars with great success. We also rebuild G50 gearboxes on a regular basis and have not seen any unusual wear on any sacrificial components. We do however install limited slip additive when applicable, that must be why we never have diff. "chatter" issues. We also have a better gear lube that we install in track cars that see very heavy use. It is rather pricey, so many might consider it overkill for your average street car...Just another opinion, Jerry

Better go and buy yourself a bottle of GM additive to be safe...

Don't use that stuff, it isn't the proper lubricant additive for the G50 style gearboxes. It will create the same issue the standard Mobil 1 LS 75w/90 does which is that the gear oil is too slippery (LSD additives) and will cause the syncro to fail to grab the gear and spin it up properly and accelerating wear on both the syncro, gear and dog teeth of the gear. Delvac is probably the most cost effective oil for the G50 gearboxes, especially for a street box.
What did the factory ship the cars with?

(Oh, and your car is not a 965.)

No matter what I use the LSD always makes its noise eventually. Even additives don't last long. They make noise period although some more than others. there are TSB's and lots of info regarding the noise the 20/100 makes at low speed turns and in reverse. Porsche acknowledged it and it is not a wear issue. It is just working. To be honest you should worry when it stops making noise. The 40/40 in my C2 makes no noise as noise is not an issue with these.
BTW the 91's did not all come with an LSD. Although almost all came with option 220. I know of 2 91's that don't have the option code and do not have an LSD. They became standard in 92.
As far as 965, we all can rehash this and know the 965 was supposed to be a car that was never released but there isn't a forum or business that doesn't acknowledge the 964 turbo as a 965. It has become accepted over time. FVD, Cargraphic, tech art and most other shops use 965 as a way of distinguishing the turbo apart from the N/A cars.
