Jackhammer like sound when turning right.
Ok, so beginning on the way down to last weekends DE I started to hear a slight sound coming from what I believe the rear left wheel on turning right. At the track, I checked the lugs (fine), and the wheel bearing (no play in the wheels). But the axle nut was loose (maybe 200 ft-lbs instead of 450).
It got worse as the two track days progressed, but still no obvious signs of damage. We concluded that it was probably one of the CV joints.
How does one track this kind of issue? And how long does a CV last? I've got 180K miles on the car, and 9 track days.

Well, we will try that this weekend. I pulled the car out of the garage for the weekend DE, and come back to the spot being filled with hand me down baby stuff. I need a man cave!

It sounds like you have a wheel bearing going bad. What happens is the bearing race begins to pit from the ball bearings and, although the bearing might feel tight, will make noise as the ***** travel over the pitting.
