Scantool Issues Checking CCU
I recently used my scantool to do an Motronic Adaptation to cure a consistant hard starting condition I was having. Worked great (changed from default 128 to 134 and the engine starts first time now).
However, when I went on to checking out the CCU interface and decided to try checking the servos using the "Test Outputs" feature I had the following problem:
With engine off, ignition on, I connected to the CCU and clicked on "Test Outputs". I received the message about the scantool being ready to test the outputs one at a time. When I clicked on Start the message, "Output Tests Complete" (or something to that effect) appeared instantly. I tried this again several times using different sequences of turning on the ignition first or starting the program first, even restarted the computer but always got the same results, no output tests.
Am I losing it? I thought I recalled that this used to work, sequencing through the CCU outputs (servos etc.). If anyone can confirm this and maybe offer an explanation of what I might be doing wrong I'd welcome the input.
Thanks,
Jim G.

I have only done this once but I seem to remember that I had to click on the test output button multiple times. Each time I did it, it would cycle the next function. For example, click once - servo 1 moves, click again, servo 2 moves, click a third time, the rear blower runs on low, etc. It wasn't necessarily intuitive but it did work.

The 993 xxx xxx CCU will go thru all the test outputs routine as described, but the 964 xxx xxx version will only record and clear the codes, and it's not able to go thru the routines. There might be a later version of the 964 xxx xxx that has that capability that I'm not aware of.

Scantool will cycle through the CCU outputs during Test, on my '93 C4. (I do not know if the CCU is original, however).
I do not recall that the CCU cycled during Test on my '92 C4.
On a related note - what does Scantool do for Test Output on the SRS-airbag page?? I am afraid to try it!
