Door/Window Rattle
I have this really annoying rattle in the driver side door. It seems to be coming from the area of the interior door locking mechanism (the circle thingie). The noise is metal against glass. If I roll down the window just a little bit it goes away. If I press my elbow against it it goes away. I've taken the door card off several times to hunt it down, taped the area around the lock, thinking it might help, but no dice.
I haven't looked into the window raising/lowering mechanism, since the door is still wrapped in plastic and I don't want to just cut through it.
Does anyone have a success story to tell about a door rattle being fixed?
kthxbai!

i've got the same damn thing going on w/my drivers window...if i lower it even just 1/4" i get a rattle sound comming from somewhere inside the door...rattle is present when window is lowered even more but then goes away when it is fully lowered.
haven't looked into it but looking forward to hearing some thoughts on the subject..

There seems to be a lot of window issues with our cars and little documentation on how the windows are adjusted . Does anyone have a good contact at a porsche shop that would share some of those secrets
I would love to be able to adjust my windows and get rid of some gaps I have.
I had the panel off trying to figure it out. But I did not want to make things worse then they are .

Ilko (and others) - you don't need to cut the sealing plastic - just peel it off gently to access the interior of the door and it is easy to stick it back on.

Yea i have the same thing on the drivers door. When i lock it, the rattle goes away. I plan on taking it apart one day but im waiting on one of you guinea pigs to go first.

I have the opposite problem: With the window all the way down, it rattles. If I raise it just a little the rattle stops. I'd love to see how the mechanism is put to together. If anybody takes theirs apart and is able to adjust it, could you take pictures?

I had this problem a couple years ago and found a thread here with the fix:
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...windows-3.html
Check post #18 for a picture of the metal "riser" that gets out of place, and post #21 for the fix. If you raise the glass all the way, you will feel the metal "knee" that's loose. My notes say I only had to adjust one of the hex bolts. Any you can peel the plastic back, rather than cut through. Best of luck!
