Tony, a standard C2 cab (even a tip) with that sort of mileage a year ago would have commanded that sort of price, if it was a well sorted example. I think high teens is more realistic in todays market. While I like white 911's, and many here swear they are a tad faster than the rest, it is a fairly ubiquitous (notice I didn't say common) colour which also does not help the seller.

As said above the America Roadster was a commemorative car. The original America Roadsters are selling for over $1,000,000.00 today. Wouldn't it be nice to think that someday.....

Ah who am I kidding. Great cars though.

The car has wood grain interior trim and porsche emblems on the inside door levers. Could it be a special edition vehicle or are these optional features?

Here are some pictures of the outside. I will try to post some interior shots soon.

Tony, sounds like the current or a previous owner has made some cosmetic modifications. I would actually expect this to devalue the car. 'Emblems on the door levers"? Does not sound too tasteful either imo...tread carefully...

Porsche offered a rootwood package. More than not it was limited to the shifter but some cars were loaded with it. very expensive and not everyone's taste. It also did not hold up well to heat.

More than likely it is an add on applique. Here is a picture of a dash with factory rootwood.

I went back and looked at the car last night. The entire dash is wood grain...cluster to glove box. The shifter console is also all wood grain. I could get any pictures last night but will try to get some this afternoon and post them. The sellers ad says "Special Edition". I'm hoping he has some documentation to authenticate his claim. I'm leaning towards a purchase, unless the carfax shows some history.

Here are the pictures of the interior... does it look factory or after market?

Aftermarket, some of the gauges are not aligned properly in the dash, the wood kit is aftermarket, it appears to have an aftermarket alarm installed, a control or two looks broken, it appears to be just a white Tip cab.

I have followed the 964 market for sometime. I have to agree with the above posts. This car is not anything special or limited. The car has aftermarket woodgrain and radio.

If you are new to Porsches, do a little homework and buy the newest one you can afford. Make sure it has a PPI done and hopefully all the service records. Also, if you want a TIP, they should be priced at a discount vs. the manual trans.

Good luck in your venture,

Look at the wheels.... they did not even took the time to properly painting the center caps white.

How is the condition of the top? Does it have the internal liner? Are the elastic straps that pull one of the top bars, still good?

It also looks like the front bumber was repainted. Rock chips? Accident? Need to ask.

I do like the door pulls with the Porsche crest and the speakers with the Porsche crest in the leather.

What they are trying to position as exclusive or special upgrades is a bunch of ugly (imho) aftermarket mods... that should play against the price of the car because it will take some $ to bring it back to its beautiful stock look.

Get a PPI if you are still going to pursue this one... price has to be extremely low to even consider this car...

Its horrid and I suspect the dealer knows his claims are dishonest (makes me wonder what else he might not be entirely truthful about).

Tell him what you think before you walk away.
