Default Central Locking Problem

On my 94' 964 Cab: The red light on the central locking switch on the center consol is always on and if I push the switch it does not activate the locks. The car can be locked and unlocked normally with the key. Any ideas?

Thanks,

JF

Can't say I’ve experienced this problem, but I would look at the switch and wiring going to the switch. It sounds like the controller box is working, maybe the wiring is shorted. Is everything else with the alarm and locking system working properly?

Thanks for your reply, everything else in the system appears to be functioning normally.

I am having the same problem. I cannot figure out if the central locking unit is a separate part like on my old 86 Carrera or if it was incorporated into the alarm ecu Part #: 928-618-260-03-M100. Anybody care to chime in? My current car is a 93 964 C2

Your year and part number is a single unit with the alarm and locking unit combined.

Thanks Cabrioartie, that is what I was beginning to believe, a change to get $400 bucks out of you instead of the old $100 part.
