upon further investigation it looks like the headers were done by a company in canada and were custom fabricated...

So lets see, I'll need the following to make my car sound like that:

3.8L engine
Custom Fabricated Header system
Fabspeed muffler

crap, my whole car isnt even worth near that

Just the Fabspeed dual exhaust should get you there. I am getting my car ready for it. I recently ordered the side piece of the bumper (wide body car so it is coming from Germany, not in stock here) for the dual outlet...

Once that is in and all painted then I will get the exhaust. Can't wait. I heard a 993 with it and the sound was wicked!! even with stock headers...

Its the stress of parting with a perfect yellow fuse puller. Maybe I should send you a wrinkly-dog shifter to help ease the transition?

That video is deceiving because there is echo... This is how fab sounds in a 964 (the badge says 3.8 but who knows..)

I dont think that exhaust has any fabspeed parts. Also, the area where you hear most of the exhaust is open, not surrounded by walls. Once he gets to the walled area he practically shuts it down.

I emailed the company to find out what the deal is on that car because if that exhaust is valid and it really does sound like that, i'm on board

I think the acoustics of the walls of the surrounding buildings are part of that sound you are hearing. We cannot see in the video what is surrounding the area where the camera is. I suspect that there are buildings around on both sides, albeit not as close as the "canyon" at the end. Buildings/walls even 50 yards away on either side will yield stunning acoustics.

One of my favorite things to do with my car with it's two bypasses is to wind it up to red line under an overpass or between the buildings downtown (much farther apart than the canyon in this video). Stunning sound. One of these days I need to record it.

I have the Fabspeed dual exhaust, spitting out from a K&N feeding an Autothority hot wire.

Sound is downright nasty! I will TRY to make a soundclip and see if I can post it.

As for the cut-out....Dremel!!! I'll take a closeup pix also.

I have Fabspeed dual also. I used a dremel for the cut-out after making a paper template from the right side and reversing it for the left side. All that's missing from the left side is a contour detail that follows the cut out, not noticebly unless you really look.
