Cool Center Console

Hi!

What's the answer to fixing the the two pieces in the console holding the switches for the spoler and doorlock, warning light after the clips are gone? I contacted Oklahoma Foreign, but no luck.

Thanks for the feedback

I had the same problem, superglued the switches to the console, exactly where they connect by the missing clips. They've been fine for over a year.

I repaired my console with epoxy. One of the clips was broken so I built it back up with 5 minute epoxy. Its been a year and so far, so good. :-)

I'm currently encountering that same problem as we speak and decided to order a new console piece instead of 'super glueing' just in-case I needed to do any wiring or whatever inside that compartment area in the future. The only problem is that the part has to be ordered from Germany and it's a 4 week delivery period (or pay 10% more for 1 week delivery by air instead of ship.) Not as quick a fix as 'super glue' but ....

Sam,

Just to be clear, I didn't glue the switch cover to the console. My part is removable, just like the original. I would suggest giving glue a try. At worst case, you have to buy a new one but you might get lucky, like I did and save yourself time/$$$.

My two cents.

Rob,

I ordered the new console part on Friday and I'm already committed. I'm pissed as I would have attempted this repair before ordering but I did not think of searching for this repair or thread earlier on Rennlist. Thanks for the input as it definitely would have saved allot of $$$ and time.

These parts show up on ebay monthly or so. My switch and spoiler housings both have the clips on the passenger sides broken. Still have the metal clips, but no plastic to "clip" them to. I've just been living with them kinda loose since I got the car.

Would like to see pics of the superglue fix.
