how is carpet fastened to drivers footwell?

Default how is carpet fastened to drivers footwell?

all,

how is the carpet affixed to the drivers side passenger footwell just next to the front trunk release?...this is the piece that is narraow and runs vertically from the pedal cluster.

the very edge of my carpet is flopping and looks to have a plastic mounting collar..with no mounting harware attaching it.

I think the carpet is just glued.. but the piece behind the pedals have a little belt.. Or was that in my old Porsche?? Hm.. I'll check tomorrow

You need to remove the hood release lever in order to remove the carpet. Other than that, it is simply glued to the plastic piece that holds it up.

frank...does the plastic carpet end piece with the 2 holes in it get affixed with some sort of bolt or hardware behind the trunk mechanism??[/

Uncscrew these two bolts and see whther you can slide the carpet piece backwards. This should reveal a latch on the left front side of the foot well that the front part of this carpet piece should slide into if installed correctly.
