I don't know, this is quite interesting and I think we are all learning from it. I went to the lowest point the bilstein HD's would allow. My shop does tons of these cars for track and it was their opinion that going any lower without extensive changes isn't the end of the world but would gain little with the down sides mentioned.
It is up to you to decide if you are comfortable with it for your purposes.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't intend to disparage the low cars in general or Low 964's in particular. I just thought it worth mentioning a couple of things relevant to the topic. mine ran at 615mm at the front fender for the past 3 years of mostly track use and I thought it was too low even w/ RS uprights.
here it is @605/625 where it was mistakenly set, I asked them to raise it 10mm, they lowered it 10mm
rides and tracks great no discernable bump steer on the street, but thats not a good test either
