Dated 01.28.09:

John, are you getting closer to going back to a 964?

"No, but that's not to say I don't miss it, Scott. I still have a (very) large picture of it above my bed."

I knew it you cheeky monkey Very nice indeed!

Well done John :-)

You know my thoughts...I'd have my 964 back too, but I can really only have one car so the GT3 stays.

I will LOVE driving behind you in Scotland this year..I've driven thousands of miles with that red rear end in front of me and I'll be happy to do a couple more thousand!

Steve (Sal) - Surely I retain honourary 964 Wales run membership? I still have my 964 avatar, and of course the GT3 has a few 964 parts deep in its heart :-)

I hear those incumbent bikes are great exercise. Do you have a roof rack on the GT3 for it...?

Honoury status i would have thought was a given after the number of 964's and the avatar remaing loyal. But you will need to attend to retain it.

Welcome back to the fold...sometimes these 964's seem like one of the family with their quirks and age. You just can't buy the feeling they give you in newer cars I feel!

That number plate looks familiar.

I agree, both would be fantastic, but then again the 964 feels more than enough all on its own right now, too.

Well done John. Good decision.
I also re-purchased my 964 after owning a 996 C4S for almost 5 years. I really liked the 996, however I was not passionate about it. Thus I think I can relate to your "missed the 964 with my heart".
I get "confirmation" from the wife and daughters who keep reminding me every time they see the new/old 964 how happy I look with it and how happy they are that I re-purchased it.
Hard to believe that something made out of (mostly) metal, glass and plastic can have an effect on us.
Cheers, and enjoy it!

Around a further two hours yet - they have stopped for lunch!

At least that gives me time to go to the bank with the deposit cheque from my GT3 buyer that arrived this morning.

Default Prayers and thoughts

I pray mostly for peace............ Today, I pray for health and time. Contraction in the steel industry had me give up most of the things I had acquired over 25 years, including my 997 S. I found joy and Rennlist when I purchased my 964. In a way, they both have saved me. I truly love my car. The smells and gruffness of the 964 remind me of my first car, a '74 VW Beetle. In some regards, I feel like I'm starting over and I like it. Peace, health and time.......
