Makmov,

I agree to a point. Modding the 964 to a Euro spec car brings the car to it's intended state of trim and can be enjoyed on the road much more. I drove mine around bone stock for nearly 2 years and enjoyed it enough, but now that it's more focused, it's a far better car, IMHO.

There are levels of modifications that are acceptable and would not affect how the car is perceived in this 964 market. should the car be up for sale. There are other, deeper levels of mods that can take the car over the edge and to a "track only" level.

The 964 is a unique platform from this perspective, I believe.

I'm thinking we've gone over that proverbial "edge" at this point...big time! If anything, the new Tilton 5 1/2" racing clutch assy should render the car non-streetable. Oh well.

But it's all fun...

I posted in this thread nearly 3 years ago, my car was almost stock then except for the Bilsteins, haven´t added or modded anything else since then, just fixing all the issues that appeared in this years kept my wallet empty and the mechanics busy (and happy)

The only cosmetic improvement last year was changing the 3 rear lights because they were rather orange.

I am planning on buying a chip and a strut brace this year if my car health allows for it.

I don´t want to sound pesimistic, I try to be realistic, having an old Porsche in this "banana republic" I live in is very expensive

OE+, i.e. only change if it's better than stock.

My previous mods in order of significance:

1. KW V3 suspension
2. Big Red brakes + s/s brake lines
3. Front strut brace
4. Steering Wheel
5. ICE with iPod capability
6. Cabin heater blower delete (in an equatorial country)
7. Cup-pipe exhaust bypass

If I still had the car, I would do the following:
1. Upgrade the exterior lights
2. Improve the oil cooling system somehow
3. Install better cabin insulation foam around the engine bay
4. Change the wheel hubs to the lightweight GT2 versions
5. Find forged monoblock rims which are flush with the bodywork w/o the need for spacers
6. Fit a 993 3.6 Varioram system and new Motec ECU
7. Seam-weld the car
8. Fit carbon fibre bonnet/doors/sunroof, rear deck + spolier, but all painted in the body colour

So yeah, basically stock

Are you going to buy it back, or go for a fresh one?

Stock '94 C2 found last Oct. Only mod at that time was that the engine under tray was off.
The slippery slope was a cliff and I am still falling (not as bad as Kaib, what a project).

Found a set of RSA sport seats, lower driver seat rails and move DME, rear seat delete, RS door cards, RS carpet set.

Reseal motor, ARP hardware, valve job with Jerry Woods springs and retainers, RS air box, heater blower delete and bypass, headers w/heat sport cats duel out, chip.

PSS10's, EVO uprights, motorsport tie rods, Brembo motorsport calipers, hats and rotors, refresh bushings, Wevo mounts.

993 G50/20 6 speed (re-geared 1-5 with stock 5th in 6th), SMF, LSD.
And I am sure I have missed a few small items.

WOW Bob - yer a sick man.

Don't you just love the tranny. I keep saying that a close transmission is the single greatest mod we can make.

When we complete the 3.8 RSR build, we will indeed use a close 6 speed....too fun!!!!
