Default What Sound System is in your 964?

My 964 arrived with a Pioneer CD player that looks like a fruit machine. Currently fitting a CR-1 with an autochanger and amp (if I can find one). What have you got?

Becker CDR-220 with Inifinity 5010cs in the front and Infinity ?? (stock size) in the rear. Looks completely stock, with stock grills, sounds decent, and has an mp3/audio jack to boot.

Unless you are obsessed with concours points, I would fit a CDR-220 instead of a CR-1. With the CDR-220 you don't need the amp, and the sound quality is significantly better.

Seldom use the radio... cat-bypass, G-pipe, and modified air box cover is all the music I need... volume control is the gas pedal.

Anyway... here is what I have:

I'm with Wachuko on this one. My stereo quit working a while back and I've never felt the need to replace it. Can't say that I miss it much. Cat bypass, secondary bypass, fabspeed airbox....

I know where you're coming from, switch it off most of the time but didn't like the Pioneer 'bling'

Agreed. My car came with an aftermarket head unit (the one that quit working). But my car was originally delivered without the radio option from the factory. I've thought about either finding an original blanking panel to cover the hole or installing an oem am/fm cassette (CR1?) just to fill the hole. If I really feel the need for tunes on a roadtrip, I take my ipod.

Must be an age thing (or bad taste on my part ) I used to have a Sony X-Plode radio and speakers because, to me, it looked cool having that red accent inside the car to match the exterior color... well... must be getting old... replaced the radio with the one in the photo (and now thinking about just putting a CDR-220) and replacing the speakers shortly with something that looks stock....

Shameless photo of the speakers...

I have a Sony something or other. It's only on when I go cruising with the kids.

That actually didnt look bad bc of your red car, I am just not a huge fan of sony when it comes to audio. Your interior looks very clean, I need to make it down to orlando once I piece her back together and check out your car/cars.

My Infinitys look stock as can be, even the headunit almost appears stock. We have the same car, yet my seats are slightly different?? They have more rise on the sides beside the seat, and wings by your ribs, why is that?

Ha! One day I will know the feeling, I plan on staying in a 964 for a while. Until then, my Boxer sitting on the back panel with the top down will have to do the trick!
