If you want a C2, buy one. It is far less expensive and you will have a more valuable car if you sell the C4 and purchase a C2. As far as I know the body shell is the same, but there are a large number of mechanical and electrical differences. Without a donor C2, I think it would be daunting and very expensive.

I already have a C4 which I have spent a bit of money on the motor etc, so kinda want to keep it, and there are not many manual C2's for sale here, and mine is not the tidiest so would be suitable for a conversion

just waiting for someone to scan this article... Apparently its no more difficult to convert a C4 than to convert a Tipo and apparently the cost is about the same

PCA club racing? I know they've tightened up on the "conversion" cars. At least since I last raced with them.

But having owned both, I cannot imagine going through the effort to remove the AWD. You can race it just fine as-is. A little piggish, and more than one guy here HAS been successful. In any case, by the time you changed everything out, you'd probably have spent as much as working with a knowledgeable chassis guy and putting the right suspension parts on it.

Here's a great article about setting up the C4 to remove some of its pushiness:

http://www.porsche964.co.uk/rev_rep/excellence.htm

You'd still have the weight of the C4, but you'd have its benefits as well.

Default GREAT series

Thank you, the last word on the subject.

The initial posts are correct I think, just buy a C2!

Too bad, I found a purple car with a navy interior but it is a C4....
