What model year is your car?

If > '91 go for the RS! Unexpensive, easy to install and very effective upgrade.

It will fit with a fairly simple modification to the shifter box - search and you will find complete details for converting to later style shift rod bushings.

I ordered my parts from Sunset in Oregon and they are now installed in my 90 C2.

So is the RS the one to go for, what about other makes, any idea on cost for the parts for RS conversion?

Just got price for these bits...

Part number are

- RS shift lever: 964 424 015 08
- RS fork: 964 424 017 01
- RS shift rod: 964 424 020 35

£320 inc vat

Would I need all those bits, or anything else?

You won't need the shift rod, but will need the two oval bushings. Total cost should be around € 100,00.

Keep in mind that by shortening the throw you'll put more force into your tranny. IMO not catastrophic but there is always the chance that you shifted too hard and too fast and things go ..caput!

Actually it is the other way around, you need more force on the shift **** to excert the same force on the shift rod.
