Default A/C acting up?

Generally I am very happy with the air conditioner of my 964,till last saturday when I did some city driving ( it was a hot summer day) and it seemed not to blow cold enough air (the air was cold but not as much as before)
Ok I said to myself, probably needs a charge and thatīs all... but today I took the car again (Highway driving summer morning) and the A/C blew real nice cold air.
I am now confused....

Nothing is more obnoxious that intermitent failures

AC works on pressure. If you are low on freon then you could have stuff like this happen. I would say you are probably a little low on freon. In fact an AC that is slightly low on freon will blow cooler air than one that is full, in certain circumstances. On the road at steady RPM with constant air flowing over the condensor and pressures steady in the system could cool well. In the city it could be struggling. It should be real easy for your shop to put their gauges on it and see where the pressures are and come up with a solution. Its snowing here.
