Welcome to the family...
The car is amazing. It is a pure sportscar: NO cup holders, squishy suspension, GPS satellite navigation, or dash mounted cappuccino machine... It is a cornering and brakes machine with some power. I find it odd most cars try to isolate the driver from driving and the road. Not this one. The 964 apologizes for nothing.
My background is extensive RX-7s and sportbikes. Much autocross for the cars and trackdays for both. No car I have been in has remotely offered the same visceral response as a bike which is why I have not owned a car in 8 years. This 911 brought back that loving feeling. It must be an 8.5/10 on visceral response vs. a liter bike.
The car specs: 1989 with a lot of miles IMHO (~145K) and a 2005 rebuild. Two accidents. But in 20 years we have all had our bad days. I skipped the PPI because it was PRICED TO SELL, I chose heart over head. We will see how that works out. I trust the PO, who is a Porsche fanatic, engineer, engine builder and overall nice guy. What did he do less than 1 hour after getting my money? Bought a 993.
The mods: sport springs and main + primary muffler bypass, exactly what I would have done to a stock 964. The exhaust note is perfect. Not obnoxious, just growl.
Yes, I really do like the polished D90s although they do need cleaning.
I already learned two things, “Wow a repair and it is under $1000 that is a good deal.” And, “Life is too short not to own a 911.”

If I get rid of the ash tray , I could put the tubes and handles there ...
