Cup 1 Replicas
Anyone have close up pics of the Cup 1 replicas. The one on the Wheel Enhancement site is of an OEM wheel (so they told me) It would be great to see them side by side to tell how they look different.
There is a small website whose co-owner has his panties in a twist about the cup wheel nomenclature-here is his post where he vows to edit anyone using Cup 1 or 2 terminology-he lated added that anyone using those terms would get in trouble with the moderators!
'contrary to an all too popular misconception, there is no such thing as "Cup 1" and "Cup 2" wheels - this has been a constant source of confusion when trying to talk to someone about these wheels
for the record, the wheels that come on this car in 17" form are "C2 Turbo" on the early cars and "993 Cup" which became available on the later cars (the C2 Turbo continued to be available)
there are multiple widths and offsets for both models
the misnomer came about from a car that was never sold to the US - the 911 cup car, a european model, came with the C2 Turbo wheels - however, the Turbo with those wheels was not out yet - also, what you could call the true "Cup" wheels were MAGNESIUM - anyway, the wheels got dubbed "Cup" over there by the enthusiasts who didn't know any better at the time, becaue they "looked" like the ones on the Cup car (but not by Porsche) - then when the 993 Cup wheel came out, those same enthusiasts perpetuated the misnomer and called that one "Cup 2"
but we will use the correct designations here - consequently you will see your posts get edited if you use the incorrect designation - please try to use the correct one though, we have a lot better things to do than continue to edit things like this
i hope this clears that up'

Looks great.
I talked to the wheel enhancement sales guy and he also said that the replica 9" have a slightly more aggressive offset and fill out the wheel arches about 1/4 " more than the OEMs
What is the weight difference again?
