Default Clear Rear Tail Light Lenses? Do they exist?

I've seen numerous posts on darkening our fading rear 964 lenses. Plus plenty of posts on front turn signal lenses (already have those).

Does anyone make clear rear lenses for the 964? I think they'd look great with several colors.

Any sources for replacements, modifications, or advice? If nothing turns up I might try fabricating my own.

Thanks,

Paging Lonnie the 964 Forum Photoshop Guru to the rescue!

I haven't seen any clear lenses in the past. Gus recently made a stick-on kit that you can apply to the lenses and people who've used it are very happy with it.

Thanks Ilko.

Were the stick-on's to simulate clear? I saw a couple of the stick on's for darker reds, but painting seems the better option.

Might have to learn something about molding plastics. Hmmmm.

Thanks for the encouragement David!

And an interesting idea to bleach them, but I think the color is infused. I think I'll yank one and see how they're put together.

Why clear? To make it look like all the modded civics? You gonna put red led bulbs in them? I don't see it looking right on a 964 with its classic old school 911 shape. But I guess it's just personal taste.

With all respect to Lonnie, reducing the color of the lenses in the photo to grayscale is not how clear lenses would look. That said, I still don't think I'd prefer them over the originals...

Thanks for taking one for the team, Lonnie!

I have to agree. On Red, I don't think it goes as well as it would work on a silver, or black car.

I love the clear front signals on my blue diamond metallic (light purple/silver in my avatar) and thought I'd give it a try.

Yes, they'd need red bulbs to work.

And yes, my goal was to emulate a Civic with huge exhaust tips.

I wouldn't mind something stock-looking with an LED bulb arrangement.

I hope something like that doesn't exist....fugly if you ask me. Maybe if you add a fartcan out back, some neon lights underneath the car and throw a few Powered by Honda stickers on the car....the lights will fit right in.

Ilk, to rip a Vince Vaughn line out of Wedding Crashers,
"...You leave me in the trenches taking grenades, Ilko!"
Everyone, that photoshop job was Ilko's idea...
If you think the style is crap -- I agree! lol
If you don't think it's accurate enough... Just squint -- it gets real Perfect, then.

And, Ilk -- [me pulling birdshot out my *** cheek] -- yer fired as my booking agent.
