this is what i am thinking, if i ever rebuild the box, or should i say when not if... i'd want an lsd, and look at the ratio's, but what?
top of 130? it must be like adding a fair dollop of horsepower...

Nordschleife Master
I have often used a 5th gear ratio equavlient to the current 4th and replaced 2,3,4 gears properly matched. That makes a very nice trans with a warmed over 964 engine.

Tip to 6 speed
I’m considering buying a C2 that’s Automatical Triptronic it’s a great price and has a lot of stuff that I would do if I got 1 stock. Only major drawback is Triptronic
Someone mentioned $9,000 for 6 speed is that the same starting from a Automatic? If not how much more?
Anything else I should consider?
Yes I realize it’ll hurt resale but it’s a keeper so whatever.

Triptronic to 6 speed
What else is required to go from Auto to standard?

Lots of stuff... top-of-the-waves list is: driveshafts, starter, clutch kit and flywheel (obviously), pedal box (with floorboard, carpet), hydraulic (master, slave, hard and soft lines), transmission mounting components, shifter (linkages, lever, boots, bushings and welded box(though I skipped this)), electronics (speed sensor and bracket(?) , jumpers, reverse light wiring), and throttle cable. Probably best if you find a wreck/part-out for most of these.

You're better off selling your car and buying a manual.
I swapped my 5 speed for a custom geared 6 speed. Needless to say it was seriously expensive, and I'm sure a year later it's only
More money. Those transmissions are hard to find

Honestly it changed the car. Feels so much quicker with the right ratios keeping it in the power band. It's like adding 50hp. Doesn't make sense from a financial standpoint, but that's easily forgotten once you drive it.

Auto is approximately $15,000 cheaper good auto 40 5K good manual 60 K if you’re going to spend $15,000 on the six speed and you were going to do these other things necessary would it cost more or less than a $15,000 five-speed to six speed swap plus it would also give you the chance to go through and hit any weak points and should be replacing and looking at a lot of things
Resell value aside with this be a good option?

Search my username for my build thread. I think it was around 30k ( trans, custom gears, gt lsd)
