Default Center Cap Finish/Colour Suggestions

Please advise me on a finish/colour suggestion for my center caps. My car is white, the rims are 17" OEM Cup 1s. I will have them finished in flat black with a machined lip. My centers are plain flat aluminum. All as pictured below

What should I do?
  1. Entire crest and surround in black
  2. Surround in black, crest in silver
  3. Surround in black, crest raised parts in black

I'd appreciate all ideas and comments.

Thank you and Happy New Year.

Cliff

Question

Anyone have a Ham-Fist's guide to painting only the raised parts of the emblem?

(Sounds like an easy, no-brainer way exists -- but the devil's in the details)

Absent that, I'd go black surround, silver shield.

Or same w/ shield in red/orange/magenta/other-hilight color -- if you've the stones for that...

I have seen the DIYer's Guide to Painting Centers. Gotta love the Google. Some industrious 944 guys have posted them.

I like option #2. Love the fact that you polished the rim lip. For me that is the proper way to do it so there is some contrast between the tire and wheel.

I used the hood crest as a guide. I paid my 12-year-old daughter to do the art work (steady hands and better patience than I). I sanded the finished work with 1000 grit wet paper, and clear-coated using Minwax spar urethane gloss. It still looks like day 1 after 5 years.
