I'm still waiting for the (non-salvage) RSA that's going for $21k (whose owner doesn't have both hands above his head.)

So unless definitions of "so-so" now include Salvaged hulks, Bruce isn't fronting helpful low-end numbers.

Well, let's see. The one I crashed at the track that looked like this when I was finished with it.

Was fixed up and sold over the summer for $30K. So I can definitely see how he's not exactly in touch.

My apologies for being a newb but . . . what's an RSA?

Also, if I type rsa.net into my web browser, I don't get anything porsche-related.

Go to RSA.net. Most of the cars posted have been sitting for 6 months to a year. Very few have been sold.
What don't I understand?

Thanks in advance for the education and patience.

2006 2007 2008
1990 so-so 21439 18100 17139
excellent 28700 27550 26088

1991 so-so 23000 18593 13912
excellent 29488 28300 21175

1992 so-so 23683 19160 17493
excellent 30363 29163 26625

This is just a snap shot of what I was referring to regarding the 1991 C2 cab prices. As you can see everything is in line until 2008. Then there is some huge unexplained drop in 2008 for 1991?????

If you do a CODE-type quote around it you can get the alignment you want. Straight HTML eats all whitespace. Usually including white-space.

Not sure when you're going to die, but if it's in 30 to 40 years like I said in my previous post, there will be a premium. Just remember, very few cars command more $$$ than their original MSRP's. Usually only time casule cars and factory limited production cars can pull it off, but it takes time. Ultra low mile '89 speedsters (under 15k miles) are just starting to get near their original MSRP's as an example.

The proplem with US p-cars over the last 3 years is that folks bought them with equity from their homes and Europe bought them due to favorable currency exchange rates. Those factors created a demand that no longer exists since the exhcange rate has gone down and property values have gone down and unemployement has gone up, all equaling less qualified buyers with increasing supplies. I think that Andersons figures are simply incorporating current economic conditions.

Sounds like a nice car. Not surprised he turned down 30, but can't fault you for tryin'.
He has two previous posts to that one. It has been listed on RSA.net since June 2008. Over 5,000 combined hits plus the coverage on RSA.net and it is not sold.:

Hi Kevjandon,

Isn't the truth found in your own words? You've searched for a RSA for three
years.

Are you following the market, or trying to make it? The latter is a precipice.

I will tell you that seven years ago, RSA's sat for over a year on RSamerica.net.

It has not changed. Thin market.

A few like you and me search it out. But I do not make markets, but only follow.

Wish you the very best in your search.

Sadly I'm in the market for a car that I just don't think exists. If I didn't have 4 kids I be all over one of the many 93 RSA's that have come, gone or are still sitting.

I enjoy driving with my kids. I'm one of the few who found a way to shoe horn the car seats in to my last 964 when I had 1 and then two kids. When I had my 3rd I bought a 2 seater M Coupe and sold it after a year of owning it. It sucks to just go out by yourself.

That leaves me to find one of the 88 1994 RSA's. In the last 3 years, 5 1994 RSA's have come on the market. One white that was in an accident with a salvage title, one red that has ultra low miles that is on RSA. A year ago he wanted 59K and now he wants 79K, go figure. 3 black ones have popped up and one of those has sold and the other two are on RSA.net.

The perfect RSA for me is a 1994 White RSA with only LSD. Email me if you know where one is that is for sale.

For now I've been chating with my local P-shop about just buying a 1993 and adding the back seats and seat belts. It might be my only option to get what I want.

I sold my car last year and have been looking for another Pcar ever since. I took a lot less than I wanted. The market is very soft. I have ran across some POS RS in the 18-22K range with accidents and high miles. I am sure most of you have seen regular C2 and C4 go into the low teens. Most are POS, but there are a few that are decent ones in that price range. The almighty 993 price has dropped considerbly. I picked up a 96 933 cab 70K four months ago for $21K clean. And in the Bay Area.

IMO most of us love our cars and take care of them like there part of the family so we just think its worth more. Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
