Default PS pump delete - options for engine tin (RSA owners??)

I am buttoning up the PS delete and need to decide what to do about the function served by the pump housing. I have a gap in the engine tin, and the tunnel for the spark plug boot is open. I have debated fabricating some sheet metal, but that proved daunting. I can blacksmith the housing and install that, but I like the clean look. Anyone have any experience to share? Any RSA owners able to post a pic?

Thanks

I deleted the PS pump on my 993.... I was planning on fabricating some new engine tin but I just had to many projects and couldnt be bothered. The bracket is so light anyway... if it was steel I would have been more motivated.

I just left the stock PS bracket in place and I used some very thin aluminum to cover up the hole left by the no longer PS pump. I just mocked up the piece using card board them traced it on the aluminum and used the stock bolts locations to hold the aluminum .

Thanks. I thought fabricating new engine tin was straight forward, but the bracket forms part of the tunnel for the spark plug, and supports one of the mounting studs for the secondary muffler bracket - a daunting fabrication job.

I will need to do some blacksmith work on the bracket/belt housing, but that solves all the problems except for esthetics. I am still curious what the RSAs look like. If RSA parts are available, I will try to get my hands on them. Anyone know if the early (pre-PS) 911 engine tin works on the 3.6? That is easy to come by.

I left mine open and didn't bother, no issues thus far.

Question

PET pics give a clue to shape(s)? or changes in shape?

I too am looking at doing this on a 964 engine. I can fabricate the cover itself out of steel but any ideas on what gasket or sealant to use??

I left it open, why do you need to cover that little hole?

Engine tin is mission critical. Keeps the hot air from the exhaust system out of the cooling air, and also keeps the top side clean. I did not quit until the hole was light-tight.

I will examine it again, but I don't think its an issue. Not trying to open a debate
