I've changed my H5's to H4's on my C2. Went with a little brighter bulbs upon the advice of Daniel Stern Lighting. Really enjoy them over the H5's. I'm not an expert on the HID vs H4 debate, but I do notice that some cars with HID's seem fine and others have an annoying amount of glare when they're heading towards you. I've heard of people putting HID's into 964's. Would love to see what that looks like from the driver's viewpoint.

Default I was really thinking...

about just changing to aftermarket bulbs like the silverstars. The 964 is my weekend driver, I don't often have it out in the country at night. I don't think I want to go thru updateing to H4, with the included paint work, it just wouldn't be worth it to me, rather spend the $ on other upgrades. I have the Xenons in my MINI, they work great.

So back to my original questio, are there any particular H5 replacement bulbs that you all would recommend?

Thanks,

J. Tucker

Get the H5 silverstars and see if it would make a difference. They are not that expensive so it's worth to try.

Try the Silverstar Ultra, I have them on my car, they are an improvement over the stock bulbs, but still not what I would like, especially at night when it is raining. I am upgrading to H4's, you cant' have enough light when driving at night. I got the Silverstars on fleabay, shipped to me for ca. $25.00

Paintwork is optional.
The H4 trim rings are available chrome or primer IIRC.
