Question for RSA/Turbo owners....

Drew, I haven't the foggiest idea who's tail it is. It came w/ the car.
It's all fiberglass -- no rubber edging.
It mimicks, but doesn't replicate the Carrera/RSA tail.
Just enough to notice -- not enough to motivate correction.
(below, next to the real deal)
Broadly put, my tail's base has a bigger footprint on the tail lid than does the more cantilevered, smaller RSA's base.
Height & wing area-wise, they're pretty much the same.
It came to me painted all red.
That was too boy racer for my tastes, so I sprayed her edges.
The 'rubber' edging is actually a nicely convincing home brew of HomeDepot/Lowes textured can spray paint, overshot with Autozone truck bedliner can spray. (tried out various layer count combos of each, beforehand, test applied to aluminum wrap, before actual application. When the optimum appearance/count was found, I duplicated that on the tail. A very satisfactory appearance that's held up better than I could have ever hoped for.)

KV kids some of my car's plebeian WalMartAutoZoneLowesHomeDepotBoltsRUs-sourced solutions.
Money goes where money's rewarded.
Someday I may get a RSA. But This is not that day...

Thanks Lonnie for the insights and photos. It's kinda-scary, but as I've been contemplating a fiberglass tail I was thinking about trying a similar approach to yours in order to replicate the rubber edging.
My other car hobby is a vintage LandCruiser, and when I restored it for some of the small parts and the front bumper I used a base of flat black topcoated with DupliColor bedliner (if you soak the can in hot water, the spray pattern comes out finer/smaller). It's very resistant to scratches and doesn't peel or flake off.
Now that I know a replica tail can look that good, I'll probably give-up trying to find an RSA tail...
Thanks!

Just think through the process/practice each step before doing it. Found that cheap, thin Wal-Mart throw plastic worked great to cover Everything against 'paint dusting'.
Prep-, and after-pics, as done in an apartment one-car garage.
Hung the tail from the garage door bottom edge -- not where you see it hanging, and shot pointing out of the garage:
