Since we're examining this wheel so closely, the thing that strikes me as being unusual is the width and offset stamps by the valve stem. They are different as in font, size, and placement from any other OEM Cup I I've seen. Any insight as to why that may be?
Just for the record, I'm not questioning the authenticity of this wheel one bit, I'm merely curious as to why it's different.

The 7&8 x 17's were manufactured by 2 different suppliers one is p/n 965.362.124.00 Front and 965.362.126.00 rear, this is the wheel you see 90% of the time. The other is 965.362.124.01 front and 965.362.126.01 rear. All other versions were made the same as the one pictured in 7.5" width. The different font was used on the .01 version which is what you might have. The primary difference is all seen from behind. As the wheels pictured show the inside indented and the outer most part of the spoke as being thick the other manufacturer's design is different using a thick center section and a thin cosmetic lip on either side making it look identical from the front. The only other difference is the .01 weighs .66 pounds more for the 8 x 17 than the .00 version.
