Space Saver Spares - 964
I have 2 unused, 964 space saver spares that I want to put on eBay and have no idea what they're worth. They're 5.5 x 16, aluminum painted red, with un- used rubber donuts; part # 965.362.130.01. 1 is museum quality and the other has rubs and scratches from riding around in the boot. Any ideas what they're worth??

Andy,
You've got it in one!! The Turbo has larger brake calipers than the standard C2/C4 and came with 17" wheels from the factory. Hence the specific 965 part number for the Turbo part. It is a larger diameter to clear the calipers. This is why when C2/C4 owners upgrade to "big reds", i.e. the Turbo calipers, the spare wheel will no longer fit.

I would suggest posting on a vintage porsche 356 forum as most of the "outlaw" guys presently covet space saver wheels as the resto-mod wheel of choice.
Cannot tell you the kind of money they are worth to them, but probably more than the average 964 bloke looking to replace a spare.

That's why if you get a flat in the front you move the rear wheel to the front and the spare to the rear. And yes, I know you may have wheel fitment issues, but you'll be ok for a few miles going to the nearest repair shop.

Mmmmm, I'm thinking that's not going to work too well with my 10" rim with a 285/30 tyre on it!!
