Try Type 911 in Beckenham SE London.
O2 sensors £80.00 ex vat.

Thanks Blown Away.

That looks like a good price from Type 911 for an o2 sensor. I read some where that some new o2 sensors need the wiring to be spliced. I certainly don't want to get involved doing that! Although from the photo it looks like it's a complete unit ready to fit. I would imagine from the price it's not a genuine Porsche part but if it works, who cares.

Cheers

TD

I agree, but there seems no way of telling which o2 sensors are good. Bugger, do I take a risk and buy the cheap one or buy from a Porsche dealer?

Ask them if it comes from porsche or from somewhere else .

If it comes in the porsche box with the porsche part number then its going to be a good one .

Mine also runs with a de-cat and g-pipe retaining only the primary silencer.

I think my cat connection may have a bridge across the plug but it needs the O2 mixture to be adjusted manually to get it running properly. When the engine is rebuilt, I will probably re-instate the sensor.

Here is a link to how O2 sensors work and why they fail:

guys,

i have the same problem, i cleaned the isv and it cured the idle stab, but it has started to come back! i think i'll try the 02 sensor after reading this thread! where is it on the car and is it easy enough to replace yourself (ie pull off and replace?)

cheers, chris (uk)

If you are standing behind your car , look under the left rear fender just behind the tire .
Its screwed into the top of the cat .
It can be a real pain to remove and replace .
They rust weld into place and because they have wires coming out of the top , getting a wrench onto them and spinning them out and then another back in can be a pain .
If you have a shop do it for you , it might pay .

And where in the UK are you ?

Question - Did you have your " Check Engine Light " come on after you unplugged the O2 sensor -??
Does it stay on all the time or does it go off and come on every now and then -??

I also have the hunting idle , occasionally it drops so low that the car stalls.

I bought a new ISV, (£180 Berlyn Serrvices UK, think it was about £230 from Porsche) and it made no difference. Oh well, now I have a shiny new ISV. My car was specced without a cat, and PSE, so i assume the O2 sensor is not fitted or else has nothing to do with the erratic idling?
