Premium for RSA over identical C2

I don't think you would want a $12k 964. These cars get expensive very quick if you get one with problems. It will nickel and dime you all the way up to $20k where solid C2's are running.

It all depends what you wanna do with the car. If it's sunday driving and occasional track duty, I would go with RSA and once you're done with it, sell it with barely any loss. Non sunroof do command a premium but only if you wanna pay for it.
Now if your intention is to built a track car, I would go with regular C2 cause everything will be changed and even RSA parts wont cut it. Once you've strip the car (either C2 or RSA) both will be the same so why pay a premium for something that will be off the car.
My first porsche was an RSA and absolutely loved it but everything in the end was changed for better. Now if I go back to 964, I will either buy a non sunroof RSA that is already been turned into a track car with full cage or start from scratch with a regular C2.

Actually they will NOT be the same car. The C2 is a F class car with a min weight of 3181# while the RSA is run in F w/AC or G w/o A/C with a min weight of 2910. That 271 pounds make a big difference. That is why I chose a RSA.

I know Dell, that's why I said track car, not race car. My post was more towards guys who completely strip their car and make them track car, not for guys who want to race a certain class.

As a former RSA owner I agree mine clearly had seam welding, crinkled finish, rolled fenders, and the special blueprinted motor with RSA chalked on the case. The biggest difference without a doubt was the magic pixy dust they sprinkled on them as they left the super secret vault where they were hand produced by a single worker who had a minimum of 30 years with the company.

Like I said, PCNA could NEVER have known how well their quickly thrown together RSAmerica plan would have worked years later.
If they tried it again today, they would most certainly fail.
Now, if anyone knows of a midnight blue RSA for sale.........

The crinkle finish is a part of the entire model line. My 93 C2 has crinkle finish my 94 turbo does not. It would appear the crinkle finish was used up until early 93 MY cars as I have seen some 93 MY C2's with smooth finish. My turbo and C2 also came with rolled fenders from the factory.
To be honest I like the RSA but unless it was a non sunroof car and was seam welded it makes more sense to buy a C2 and turn it into a track car than a premium for an RSA. I can switch my power rack out to a manual one for about $1000. Seats are going to be swapped for any track use and my engine with just a cup air box and 100 cell cat with magnaflow muffler dynos at 247 RWHP. What else do you need.

Light weight RSA ?
I know the rear storage box weighs more than the rear seats and speaker shelf. I weighed both.
The rear side panels on a C2 only weigh 4 lbs for the pair.
The whale tale is much heavier than the C2 deck lid with motorized tail. I have weighed both.
Power mirrors and wires don't ad to much either.
So power steering pump and lines and a couple pounds from the doors can't add up to too much.
The sport seats are also slightly heavier than stock C2 seats to boot. epically if you got a C2 with out power seats.
So much for the light weight theory.
I have heard the blue seat belts are noticeably lighter than the black or red veriants....
