Looking for somebody with a successful experience getting a Porsche 964 (or maybe 993) Canadian version registered into California. The car in question is a 1992 model with all the nice catalytic and EPA stickers in place that certify the car for meeting California standards. So EPA is clearly not a problem, but maybe the DOT stuff is? The speedometer conversion from kilometers to mph has been performed, the car has 70k+ miles, and the car has been road registered already for several years in another US state. I'm hoping somebody already knows the DMV ropes here because as you may know when you call DMV you can never get a straight answer from their functionaries unless they have the car available for their inspection. The black passenger door jamb sticker is verbatim the US sticker except it refers to Canadian standards rather than US standards. While opinions on the issue may be interesting, real world experience in the matter is what is being requested here. Thanks much for your help so we can potentially expand the 964 forum with another new member, if this transaction can be made to work out OK.
