OK here's the rundown beyond the interior:

'90 C2 found in Statesville NC in '05. Currently @ 60k miles
Ruf struts w/ H&R 29834 Turbo springs and Ruf anti-roll bars f/r
Work Brombacher 17 x 8 & 9's
Evolution Motorsport intake
Dansk primary & secondary bypass pipes and tip
RS Heater blower bypass
Momo Monte Carlo

This winters' projects:

928 GTS / 993 C2 brakes w/ 965 proportioning valve
MA Shaw Ducktail spoiler
RennSpeed 964 3.8 RSR Splitters
H4's
FabSpeed cat bypass

I think that's about it. The bloody thing is a real pleasure to drive on track and did extremely well here in MI @ Grattan last month with the local crazies from the Lotus Club. Showed a gaggle of Elise's/Exige's the fast way round.

The in town driving is a bit of an event; it's pretty loud but I love it - as do the like-minded SE MI Porsche faithful.

Lastly I'd like to move beyond Toyo RA-1 for track work and am considering my options.

You might consider the Nitto NT01. I ran them on my 964 and was very pleased with the performance / wear. There's lots of threads about them on the GT3 and racing forum. I also just heard that Nitto is about to come out with an NT05.

Thats one sharp car

Is this the harness bar you are using ?
http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r1010.php

Is'nt this just a guide bar ? I thought it was not ment to take all of the weight in case of a crash, but I am no expert .

Edit: me thinks you should keep the flags

A fabulous ride! How do you like the pedals on the track? What about the strut/spring combo on the street?

U guys are killin' me with the flag comments. I can't even think of those until the performance mods are well/truly done. Or are they ever done ?

I think that the flags would only get binned in order to replace w/ the 935 mirrors ala LA964RS's sled - I like the look of narrow body, snappy wheels/tires, 935 mirrors, some upgraded spoiler/splitter and the old school ducktail.

That will be my approach given the other performance mods (winter projects) noted above.

How did you do the carpet over the rear deck area? I have some wiring and irregular surfaces without the padding.

Cheers.

Hopefully this will get a response...

What are people doing with the carpet behind the release mechanism (red arrow)? It looks like the carpet is sewn into the leather lining that runs along the door sill.

I am thinking the difference between the perlon felt and the OE fur is too much to leave undone.

Thanks.

Make sure you pull the little cover off that bolts to the latch release. Take your carpet piece that goes along the door sill and wedge it under the latch. You'll have to mess with it to get it looking right. Hopefully this answers your question. I struggled with this a bit when I did mine.

Thanks.

It really looks like that strip of carpet is sewn to the leather strip in the picture.

I thought you were talking about a different piece. I'll consult my installation photos. I honestly can't remember what I did there.

OK I didn't do this with my 964 but if you don't like the difference in material, you may want to try it. With your carpet kit you should have gotten two square pieces of carpet with a small strip of leather on one end. You'll probably have to pull the latch off of the body and pull the weather stripping in that area to tuck the leather.
