Default What wheel options were available on the 964 when new?

Forgive me if I am not familiar with the wheel choices when buying a 964 (C2) but I am trying figure out what the wheel options were when ordering a new 964 back in the early 90's.

Is there an order guide or can somebody point me to what wheel choices were available?

TIA!

Cup 1's obviously.

You could probably find the answer in PET.

Dell,

There were Cup 1 style wheels in aluminum 17" with different widths for RSA, Turbo, and Magnesium for Euro RS and CUP

There were 16" 5 spoke

There were 16" design 90s

And I'm sure others.

Thanks Geoffery

What what I can gather the RSA had the Cup 1's in 17x7 F and 17x8 rear. I sure do like those Cup 1's and will probably grab a set sometime soon to put my rain tires on.

Great meeting you again this past weekend. Looking forward to many more events!

Dell, I have the OEM 8" wheels in the front and bought a set of 9" wheels for the rear. That way you can get up to 245 wide tire in the front and 275 in the rear.

Also don't forget the 18" Speedlines, although from what I've heard they may not be the most ideal for the track.

you may try to get 17x8 for the front and 17x9 for the rear which will work better for the 225 and 255 size Hoosier wet tires. The 18" speedline wheels are cast wheels and I would not want to race on them. I'd rather have a forged wheel.

964 Cup cars ran 9.5's in the rear....still available, along with the Cup car fronts, 8.5 IIRC.

Pretty rugged wheel.

I have a pair of OEM 7.5" Cup I's (with 65mm offset) that I will not be using and would be willing to sell.

he is asking about the wheels for rain tires, so you will want them a little narrower than if you were running drys.

That PET turned up something I didn't expect (beside the spare tire):

928-style (whaaat???)

then the usual suspects:

16 & 17" (not options at 964 introduction)

design 90's

3-piece 5-spokes (not an option at 964 introduction)

Later 964's came stock with the 16" C2 wheel (after the D90's were phased out).

Oh and Adrian Streather did a nice piece on all of the 964 wheels, but I wouldn't know where to find it now

Quick Reply: What wheel options were available on the 964 when new?
