Default Steamed up inside

Did my first major drive in C2 last night in the rain....back from Santa Pod (a bog, thank god for engine over rear wheels)...But the car was misting up a lot, I had to have my window open a couple of inches and the fan on full to keep it at bay...Ive no A/C.
My 964 turbo had A/C and would clear quickly..

Is the problem normal, or can it be solved?

It is normal - just a function of outside temperature and inside humidity. Dialing in some extra heat will help, even if you need a window open to keep the temperature comfortable.

Happens to me all the time. No A/C and no heat here...

Fans on 11 (ok, 4), and crank the windows open a bit. I for one am glad Porsche put those rain gutters on our cars. I can have the windows slightly open and not worry about rain coming in.

It also happens to me sometimes when it is cold. Some of the gauges normally steams up at the inside.

You may want to check under the floor mats for excess moisture inside the car. Sometimes that rubbery stuff under the carpeting is wet due to leaks or whatever, and the additional humidity from it along with the rain steams the interior like crazy. It may not be a problem, but it's easy to check...

+1 on checking for moisture under the mats; if it's there, search the forum for the causes. Also, make sure that the inside surfaces of the glass are squeaky clean - any traffic film/plasticiser haze will help misting.

It sounds like theres excess water in the car.
I have had a lot of fun with water ingress, my car was like a sponge.
It misted up allmost instantly, water on the inside of the screen!
The bonnet seal was the worse cause, followed by the screen then a blocked sunroof tube, ect. The list goes on.
A leaky car in england is not a good thing.

When I got the car,a year ago,the mats in the front passenger foot well(it's l,h,d,),were very wet.But since then I have dried them out,and as I dont drive it in the wet,I dont think this is the problem?
I dont find it a big deal,as I said I dont drive it in the wet.
Its more frustrating than anthing if I get caught in the rain whilst I'm out.

Funny this happened me for the first time tonight, has it got something to do with the way the heating system works on air-cooled cars could there be moisture build up in the heat exchangers that gets blown into the cabin?

Yeah thats wot I think, thats why they give you a warp speed demister switch to compensate.
As I said previously my 964 turbo misted up and the gauges and that was a mint very low mile car, definatley didnt leek any where. But the A/C would cure it instantly.
