Hi All

Took my C4 out for a fantastic drive today - all round South Wales for a good hoon - over 300 miles

Most I've dirven it all year and I absolutely loved it!

Only concern is that on the way back (last 50 miles), car developed a sort of "clunk" as I put it into 1st gear and let up clutch. I think it seemed to be coming from drivetrain.... Not too worried but definitely not there when I started

Could it be simply that the oil had got hot and thinner??

What are your thoughts?

No impact on the drivabaility. No slipping clutch

Does it make the same noise when you start car up, or shut it off? I have heard dmf's fail that way. Other than that, what year? If the car is a 1989, iirc it has a rubber centered clutch, and that could be coming apart. Good luck.

Hi guys

My car is an early 89 so I am assuming it will not have the DMF?

Does not happen when I start the car - only happened after a long drive this weekend when pulling away in 1st - not affected in any other gears.
Think I may have heard a slight "buzzing" in 1st gear also up to about 3000 rpm?

Please give me the cheap possibilities first followed by new clutch later!!!

Clunk does seem to be coming from middle of car - ie in between seats/near shifter
