What a beauty!
not if they're converting pounds or euros....

Why not? Even at the current exchange rates, plus shipping plus duty plus VAT you'd be getting a pretty good deal and probably a better maintained car.

Yeah, what I was hearing from the UK is that with the price difference/exchange rate, you could still save a very large amount buy buying from the US.

Lovely looking exterior and interior, but the engine compartment is letting the side down! How about a detail on that to get it perfect?

Cheers

Yeah, I have not cleaned the engine compartment well yet. I may do so this week.

Added pics of the scrape under door handle, driver tail light, and chip on rear bumper. Will be detailing the engine bay and posting shortly this week. In the mean time, here are some pics to enjoy.

Are you looking for another 911 or getting out of Porsche? I like your car, but I've got a '73 911 to move out first.

Cost in UK is the purchase price plus 27.5% (VAT and duty) plus shipping. All up about $35k. £/$ is $1.81. = £19,8100. Which, even given the condition is expensive. You'd get an excellent 993 for that.

However, It would sell in Germany.

Looks familiar:

They'd probably be more attracted to this picture:

My point is the exchange rate that was out of whack earlier in the year has settled back, thus no more benefit today than a year ago with US items being essentially on sale to foreign buyers.

But since you bring this up, why is a US car better maintained than a euro/UK car? Also, there is cost involved with shipping....I don't think this car will be going overseas...

I would love a '73, but unfortunately I am going cheap and reliable for a little bit since I will now be commuting and that was my only car. I plan on getting another porsche at some point, but it will have to wait a little while.

As far as better maintain I was referring to charlesj black 964, however you raise a good point.

1. UK car same age, will have a lot of rot it rains here A LOT!
2. Any Euro car will have 'questionable' history apart from Germany which are very well maintained and the TUV is pretty strict
3. US cars are from a dry country and folks that own them generally have the money to look after them, bit like Japan. But the history of a US car is in English and can be traced easily, by contrast my Kanji is rubbish

Just an update: Since it was brought to my attention today that I do not have the distributor vent, I ordered this and am installing it.

Also, despite a fair amount of current interest, the car is still available.
