does anyone have any idea of where oil could leak from behind the belt pulley and run down the crank case?

i'm sure its running down from up there somewhere, i could see some kind of cap held on with two 10mm nuts or something?

how does the pulley come off?

any pictures?

cheers!

Not exactly sure of what you mean but some of the pictures here might help regarding belt pulley:

It looks like it could be from the crankshaft seal or (less likely) the intermediate shaft cover o-ring. Both are easy to replace.

There is a special tool that screws into where the bolt you took out goes and it presses against the crank and pulls the pully off. You can make one by grinding a bolt down. I have the Porsche tool.

Here ya go. You can see that it's threaded at the top. That part screws into the pulley and the rest of it presses it outward against the crankshaft.

Hopefully it's just the seal.
