Default clima stops

Sometimes and suddenly the clima unit stops...No AC, No air from blowers, and also the leds of AC etc are suddenly deads. The ***** are irresponsive also.
If the car stops and the ignition is cutoff, the clima begins to work without problems. Sometimes, also the clima stops, but spontaneously (30 seconds) or if the temperature **** is decreased some degrees or to the blue dot, it works properly. Any idea?
ANother question related: The footwell receives little cold air from the AC even if the bar is moved to the maximum flow to the feet, and the scantool interface dont tell any trouble. Is it normal?

Sometimes mine does something similar. The ac will just cut out for a few seconds, then start back up. Seems to do it only when very hot outside.

The lack of foot well air sounds like a servo problem. But you may have multiple faults. I would start and methodically check things with the most common areas

1) Check the servos are operating correctly - see http://porsche964.co.uk/technical/servos.htm

2) Check your error codes - they will list if there are any known faults

3) Verify that your air conditioner compressor is spinning when engaged. It won't if you are low on refrigerant (freon).

Once you know that these items are ok, then you can start I would start look at the remaining items like a faulty CCU and wiring.

Good luck on the diagnosis and repair.

Resolved....

The fuse of the rear blower motor was ko.

Then, when the CCU send the order to this motor, there was no answer and the CCU detects error and all is disconnected. If the cause that induced the need of the blower dissappeared, then the CCU does not detect the erro and the clima began to work. Usually the blower is needed when the engine of the car is very hot, when the passenger heating is required (not in summer...), or when the defrost switch is pressed

If your clima works with aparent anarchy, watch the rear blower, it can be the culprit.

Found this on my car recently as well. Easy fix.

The symptoms described by jgpm are exactly what has been going on with my CCU for the past couple of months - spontaneously shutting down, then reviving a few minutes later.
The blower fuse answer makes good sense, but:
  1. Where is the blower fuse? I don't see it listed in the front main panel; is it in the engine compartment box above the coils?
  2. With the ignition on and temperature control set to full heat, I can hear the rear blower running.
  3. Scantool has never shown a problem with the rear blower, but it does consistently give an error code after each of these events: 24 - Fresh air flap motor.
Could a defective center servo motor also cause the CCU to shutdown, or is the error created because the system quit working?

Rear blower fuse is one of the three fuses in the engine compartment. If the rear blower fails then the ccu will stop with the heat control set to over 20 degrees.

I spent a good few hours trying to resolve mine last month before I found that the cable to the rear blowe was unplugged in the engine bay.

Thanks for this helpful post and follow up fix.

Mine was doing the same thing a while back and never did resolve it. It started working properly. Must have been my constant fiddling with the engine compartment that inadvertently disconnected the blower then hooked it back up!
