Use this wiring diagram:

You have to find out which is wire to your fog light has the current and use that. Hope this helps.

I used 3-amp barrel diodes, Type 1N5404. Here's a link to a US store that sells them, I'm sure they would be easy to find in a hardware store in the UK as well: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...tId=2062579&cp

I just did this mod, following Ilko instructions. I used a back up light harness from a recycler ($45). It was a really easy, and works great. Thanks Ilko!

Great thread bump! I was wondering about increasing the brake light visibility the other day when I was sitting in traffic and could see my car's rear in the reflection of an SUVs front bumper. The OEM brake lights really are small. Looks like another item on my to-do list!

When the rear fog switch is on they will be constantly on. When it's not they will light up with the brakes.

So only adding the diodes on the existing wiring will do the job. So essentially much easier on an EU spec car I take it?

Almost sounds too easy... that's why I'm asking

You have to connect the brake light wire to the fog light harness and add the diodes.

I'm planning on doing this mod. I have a spare taillight harness (1 side only) and it has two sockets (1 brown like pictured in this thread, and 1 black w/ 2 prongs inside).

Can I do this mod w/ these 2 sockets?
