Handbrake Woes
My handbrake has to be pulled on very hard to hold the car on an
average gradient - say at traffic lights on a normal hill. On a steep
hill, about 1 in 4, even with pulling on hard, 4 notches, will not hold
it, and some fast clutch juggling is needed before the car rolls back!
What can be done to improve the operation/efficiency of the handbrake
set up?

The handbrake on a 964 uses shoes inside the drum/disc thingy, its not the best design ever.
My car failed its mot on the handbrake, new cables, new shoes and new spring things made it pass. But its still not up to modern car standards.
Wasnt expensive to do, and i did all the work on my drive.
