Green light
My car is in for a service next week and I mentioned to my wife that it may need some suspension work. Her response was 'Just do whatever needs doing but I prefer you don't tell me about it'

What she says and what she actually does are two totally different things 
I know you won't tell her how much you spend, but she will know and you will be made to know she knows. Best bet is to use un-tracable cash, if you can.
