Any ideas to solve these two problems before I bail on this car and go back to reliable Italian pedigree?
I'm guessing this why you didn't make it to the meet last week?

you may want to try using adhesive weights. At least then you will know if you lose one.

Chris, this is the strangest phenomenom I've ever heard. Once balanced I've never had a wheel go out of balance on any car. Would it be worth trying a different set of wheels for a week? I have a spare set you could try - PM me if interested to make arrangements.

Hi Steve, I know weird and bl**dy annoying! Like you I've never come across this problem on any car I've had. This time it gets balanced I'm marking both the weights and the tyre for slip as well as re inflating them. If it still plays up I'd like to take you up on the wheel offer. Where in Cheshire are you?

thanks

Chris

Lymm (not far off J20 of the M6). You could come over put my wheels on (cup 1 replicas with Conti sport contact 2) and leave yours in the garage for a week or so. I'll be using my other set for a couple of weeks as they need to go on for a trackday at Silverstone

Chris,

Out of curiosity is it another 10-15 front and 30ish rear that is having to be put on each time or is the out of balence moving around - if you see what I mean

is there any "balancing compound" in the tires, such as tire slime or such?

I can't think of why your balance would be changing.

Moog, they go out by that amount, ie they need moving on the rim not adding.

Check this stuff out. I used this on my son's Austin Mini that we were having a problem balancing his tires
(145-100) It worked great and I've added it to the wifes MB and I'll use it on my SC when I replace my
tires.

gecc, quoted from tech page
NOTE
Magnum Plus is not recommended for balancing high performance tires.

This thread is as enticing as the dropped clip in the engine.
Dying to see the answer.

"Dying to see the answer."
Only two things go onto the balancer , ones the rim and the other is the tire .
I doubt its the rim .

While not related to tire imbalance, have a look at your front control arm bushings. When cracked or worn, which is quite common, they can present as a tire out of balance condition. Seriously.
