Learned that you are never done.

After several hours primping and detailing the car yesterday, I was sitting just enjoying the "finished" product. New wheels and tires, fresh wash and wax, even adjusted the wipers and vacuumed under the seats.

I notice a small crack in the windshield, just peaking out from under the trim seal. Of course I have to poke at it to see if it will grow. <crackkk!> It does...

Fortunately I was let off with a stern warning...

I also had a beautiful silver 993C2S pull up beside me, and I thought...how in the heck do his tailights have such nice red color while my new ones are still pink!

I learned that you can get a ticket for driving 5 mph over the speed limit on the Freeway while driving my 3/4 ton pickup to work this morning. Friggin motorcycle cops don't have anything better to do than stop someone for going 70mph in a 65mph zone? I looked at him and said, "You're kidding, right? I'm just flowing along with the traffic". His response, "This is is a 65mph zone and by the way there's something stuck in your tire." Hell I probably got it pulling over to the side. Bastard.

Nope, not yet. A good chunk of Sunday was spent "parenting" instead of car-related. Overall, more rewarding in the long run though.

I still have to finish building the ramp and then actually assemble the lift.

p.s. Besides, the car is 4 1/2 hours away in Edmonton at the moment getting a tech inspection done before DE season starts.

Sorry to hear.

That is one reason I just ordered a Valentine 1 -- not because I plan to speed but because sometimes cops have nothing better to do or have to meet a quota!

Made it to Hershey on Saturday. Nice outing, weather was great. I did not go with anything in mind to buy... probably why I didn't spend any money!
Got back late, so no work on the car.
I had evey intention of putting my engine back in the car Sunday... but ended up having a beer with my neighbor, after I cut the grass. Then another... and another.... you know the rest of the story.
On the road again, so the engine will not go in until next weekend.

I joined up with a load of Lancia Delta Integrales for a mini trackday on short, twisty sprint circuit

Is that Lancia ABS?

I dig those red center Cups! Nicely excites a white car.

Tried a similar (quick photoshopping it) on mine... and, umm, I kinda like it! (Especially if I was a fireman! lol Perhaps a bit too excited, though, for a red body to carry off well...)

How did that weather do for you last night? Looks like it all stayed south of my place on the bay.
Hope all is well

Yes..red maybe a bit too much for everday use

I just put the red shoes on for the fun of trackdays (they always draw a crowd) and put her silver boots on for Sunday best

Default boxsey911,

That Red 8v Integrale locked up sideways and in a panic is someone I know well - 'Snappers', correct? Quick car, my Evo II had trouble keeping up with him out of tolls on the M6. His shot last year at Tatton Classic Car Show.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jim. All's well here. More than were reported touched down in the vicinity. Some (I found out yesterday evening) were too close.
But all's well that ends well.

Spot on Chris. Really nice fella and his son Jordan really enjoyed his laps in the 964 . Demonfish, on here, also knows a few of the 'grale lads proving just how small a world it is.
