Surely someone like Peter Tognola will do it for you.

I've heard that you have to be very careful doing this as it can easily crack the paint on the inside of the wheel arch and lead to corrosion. Has anyone experienced this?

My rear arches are about 6mm from outer edge to inner side of lip, is this normal, fronts seem to start at 90 degrees at rear end then about third way round fold upwards ie they become more pointed , is this normal?

Okay, I've just checked my RS in the garage (factory rolled arches):

Looking at right hand side of car, and running my thumb and forefinger around the wheel arch (btw they do feel quite 'pointed' as you say):

Rear: From 'sharks fin' going anticlockwise all the way round to the bumper, the lip has around 4mm gap from the extreme edge of the lip to the inside face of the arch.

Front: The lip is 90degrees from the sill up to around '10 o'clock', then moving clockwise all the way to about 10mm from the front bumper is rolled so the lip has around 5-6mm gap from the extreme edge of the lip to the inside face of the arch.

Hope this makes sense. I would guess from your description that your arches have already been rolled, but I'm not familiar with the standard 964 narrow-body's original arches.

Cheers Rich very good reply, unless other standard C2 owners say different I assume my rears have been trimmed and fronts rolled. Or my car car is actually an RS which is more likely, that has been made to look like a C2 clone why would some one do that?

I've just been out to the garage to check my C2 and am not aware that the arches have been rolled or trimmed, however this is what I found:

Front: between 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock the arch seemed rolled up by about 30 deg to the nhorizontal.

rear: only about half the width of overhang compared to the front (say 6mm compared to 12mm), hoowever I don't know if it has been trimmed.

Don't know if this helps at all?

I'd guess your arches have been rolled at some stage in the car's life.

Are you going to any events soon? Brooklands meeting? I would be happy for you to look at my car to compare.

I did my silver car with baseball bat- no problem.
Shop did my grey car with device pictured above- paint cracked.

Different car and different paint but I'd just heat the fender with blow dryer and just do it myself again if I could.

24th May, details here
http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=364944

Melvin Spear tried to organise a 964 & 964RS meet in April but didn't get much support. So, we were thinking of tagging along with the London region meeting in May.
