With the spacers you modify the stresses on the mechanical parts, especially the bearings and ball joints because you modify the torque (force x distance).
The alignement (geometry) of the car is initialy calculated without spacers.
I agree for the look, but from a mechanical point of view, the best is to not exceed the 5mm spacer of the Porsche option.

Porsche has used spacers from the factory on many 911. Porshce still sells 5mm and 17mm spacers. From a mechanical point of view, Porsche thinks its ok to use spacers so you are fine.

It all depends on your wheels.
I just put 10mm's on the rear. Didn't see any need to do the front. Looks great to me and not "stanced" out too much
