...Sure after 3-400 miles I would be exhausted by driving my [C2 or turbo] and probably limited effect from a [996/7TT] but I prefer the exhaustion from these older cars over the detached feeling (boredom) I get from driving these newer capable cars that only excite if driven on the track at their limits.
And 20 years from now -- when a mid-engine, AWD, electric-hybrid rules the roost as Porsche's premium model -- the 997 owners will wax nostalgic. Just like yours, above.

No doubt that's the same thing said by 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, and long-hood 911 owners re our three-six "electric sleds"...

In 20 years probably all cars will be electric and have cabin speakers that produces some old-vintage sound brrrm, brrrm, brrrm (of couse some fake shifting will included in the software). I say cabin speakers because they'll be banned on the exterior because of noise pollution...
