dutch, that price seems a little more reasonable.
i talked with the guys at greg smith equipment today. they sell lifts made in china by rotary lifts.
i showed them this lift and they liked the idea. they will talk to their owner and see if they can make a similar lift. they figured the price should be in the $995 range. if it's not patented, they may be able to do it. who knows if the conversation will even take place, but i will call them back next week.
if that doesn't work, then i will have interest.
thanks,
Colin

I've talked to Greg Smith a while ago and they stated that their scissors mid-rise was U.S. made (specifically, the hydro pak). Cost was in the $1045 range in the Fall of '07.
Love to see a group buy with them...as I'm only 55 miles from their Del store.

Lou, we must be almost neighbors. We should plan a get together. Where in Philly are you?
I have a few properties in Southwest, near the airport.
I looked at the two mid-rise lifts they offer. I even got a chance to wheel one of them around in the showroom. It was pretty heavy, I was told about 1100 lbs. I'm not sure about the US made part, but I was told that most of their stuff was made in China, but made by Rotary Lifts parent company. When I showed them the ezcarlift.com site, the first response to the price was that it must be made in America. they were very interested in the design. I told them that if they made it and priced it around $700, they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock.
FWIW, I bought a engine supporting bar from them today that listed for $89 and they knocked $10 off the price, without me even asking. I suppose this is their policy on the lifts also. Seemed like a nice bunch of guys.

I just bought a Bend-Pak MD-6XP from www.metro-lifts.com. $1635 with free shipping to Canada (no affil.).
It is the same lift that Jaime and JimQ have so I am confident it will work well with the 964.

I'm excited because it will work with both my 964 and 996...
I'll post pics once I have it installed... Marc - please do the same!

Lou, I used to work off Warner and Old Eagle School Rds. I know the area pretty well.
your son must live about 10 minutes from me. Give me a shout next time you're visiting.
For all who do not know, you should check out http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/
I have no affiliation, but they have some neat stuff for the garage at reasonable prices.
